At Lydon Solar, we are proud to announce our new partnership with the Couillard Solar Foundation and the Midwest Renewable Energy Association (MREA) to support local non-profits and school districts in their transition to solar energy. Through this collaboration, we aim to help non-profits secure Solar for Good grants and assist local schools in obtaining Solar on Schools grants, bringing the benefits of renewable energy to our community.
Empowering Non-Profits with Solar for Good Grants
The Solar for Good program, managed by RENEW Wisconsin in partnership with the Couillard Solar Foundation, is designed to support non-profit organizations across Wisconsin by offering grants that cover up to 50% of the cost of solar energy system installations. This program has already empowered over 100 non-profits to install nearly 7 megawatts of solar power, helping these organizations reduce their energy costs and invest more in their missions.
As a partner in this initiative, Lydon Solar is committed to guiding local non-profits through the entire process of securing a Solar for Good grant. Our support includes:
- Project Feasibility Assessments: We assess the solar potential of non-profit facilities to ensure they are making informed decisions about their solar investments.
- Grant Application Assistance: We provide hands-on support in preparing and submitting grant applications, enhancing the likelihood of receiving funding.
- Customized Solar Solutions: Our team designs and installs solar systems tailored to the specific needs and goals of each non-profit, maximizing energy savings and environmental impact.
Supporting Schools with Solar on Schools Grants
In addition to helping non-profits, Lydon Solar is also partnering with the MREA to support local school districts in securing Solar on Schools grants. This program, which provides technical and financial assistance to Wisconsin K-12 schools, aims to make solar energy accessible to educational institutions, reducing their energy costs and providing a unique educational opportunity for students. The La Crosse, Cashton, and Eau Claire school districts are just a few in the area that have chosen to take part in this program.
Through this partnership, we help schools:
- Navigate the Grant Process: We assist school districts in understanding the Solar on Schools grant requirements and guide them through the application process to secure funding.
- Educational Integration: We work with schools to integrate the solar project into the curriculum, providing students with hands-on learning experiences about renewable energy and sustainability.
- Long-Term Sustainability Planning: Beyond the installation, we help schools develop long-term plans for energy savings and maintenance, ensuring the solar systems provide lasting benefits.
